Charm City

by Breeze Giannasio in

Just posted on Houzz a handful of photos of my Patterson Park home, which was open over the weekend for a neighborhood tour of historical homes. Built in 1857, it has all the charm befitting a home of Charm City. Hundreds passed through and I'd say it was a great success!  Still need to get a killer shot of the front parlor, which I think is the showstopper of the house! Photographers, please help!

Ole Oly!

On my last trip to New York, I swung by the Oly Showroom to finalize the order on two beautiful pieces for a client in DC.  It's always a treat.  Here are a few shots of their current showroom floor...

Well, someone just went to town buying all manner of fabric on One King's Lane.

Shop til you Drop

This weekend I was able to help three sets of clients score some amazing deals at Baker Furniture where they're hosting a 75-90% sale on floor samples.  One score was a $17.000 dining room table for $1700.  Yes!

Studio App

I've been just loving experimenting with the new Studio app to do quick graphics on my iphone - find it HERE.   Graphics on the go!  It's so phenom when technology actually does make your life easier and work more portable.  Thanks for introducing it to me The House That Lars Built!  Here are a few of my recent experiments below.

14th Street Condo

I feel so blessed to have such great clients (and friends)!  I'm excited to share the latest residential project that's been completed (that's a tiny lie - artwork and a beautiful lacquered credenza is still en route!).   In any case, this was an example of a project of smaller scope but big results -- the client recently moved from San Francisco and the challenge was to figure out how to make existing pieces that were bought for a much larger San Fran spread work in a DC condo with a traditional row house footprint.  This involved space planning, editing and then identifying new pieces to bring it all together.  Very pleased with the results!

New Photos

by Breeze Giannasio in

We were able to get photos of a wonderful client's completed home in Mount Vernon New York at long last.  It's been ages but what prompted the photos?  Sadly it was to sell the house.  After all that work!  The interiors were traditionally grounded with the aim of being family friendly with some graphic punch.  The couple and their two young children are utterly lovely and on to a fixer upper in Connecticut.  So curious about what the new home will bring!

Collage Exercises

by Breeze Giannasio in

Sometimes a project just involves some paint, window treatments and furniture selection.   Even with this less architectural scope, it can be tough for clients to visualize how individual pieces come together, even in cases where items are off the shelf.  For this purpose, I find it helpful to throw together quick photo collages to help along the visualization process.  Here are some recent examples the helped show lots of combos, helping to hone final selections.
